When the weather’s good outdoors really is the best place to be! Come enjoy a few drinks or a bite to eat, along with some of the best local live music in the sunshine!
We’ve made lots of fantastic changes to our Sun Terrace over the past couple of years…
We’ve extended our patio area and can now accommodate around 400 people outside! We’ve also built a new pedestrian subway, which leads to our Play Park, so children and families no longer need to cross the road at the site entrance. Dogs are welcome on our Sun Terrace (as long as they are kept on a lead)!
We’ve extended, and added to, our outdoor Tiki Bar. With Tiki Bites (burgers, hotdogs, fries, kebabs), cool drinks and ice-creams available.
Our Terrace has gorgeous views overlooking our lake, and the beautiful Loughor Estuary and, with its retractable roof, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a few drinks come rain or shine!
During the Spring & Summer months you can enjoy regular live music sessions out on our Sun Terrace – check our events calendar to see what’s coming up!
We also have a 4 metre LED TV screen on our Terrace, with Sky Sports, BT Sports & Premier Sports. Coupled with our indoor 5 metre TV screen we are one of the best venues to watch all the main sporting events!
Little ones can also enjoy all the fun of the fair! We’ve brought in extra rides for our Mini Funfair, which is located at the end of our Sun Terrace. Now featuring rides such as bumper cars, merry-go-round, a ‘mini rollercoaster’, bungee trampolines, water-rollerz, outdoor soft play, swing ride, penalty shoot-out game and more!
For the brave of heart, next to our Play Park, we have our Mad Mouse Rollercoaster, Waltzers and Dodgem rides! A ride on the rollercoaster also offers exceptional views over the Loughor Estuary & North Gower peninsula too! (1.3m height restriction applies for Rollercoaster).
During the warmer weather we also offer Pony Rides, with two of Gateway’s newest family members: the gorgeous Dolly & Goldie! Pony rides are weather dependant and consist of a gentle approx. 10min stroll around our lake area. (Suitable for 4-12 yr olds, with a maximum weight of 9 stone).
If you’d rather ride in a carriage than on horseback, take advantage of our free hop on/hop off land train! Give a wave to train driver George as he chugga chugga choo choos his way around the park! (Children must be accompanied by an adult on the land train). Train runs on weekends & school holidays, with a timetable available from Reception.
For all the cheeky little monkeys out there we’ve added a new climbing frame to our outdoor Play Park! The park is accessible via our pedestrian subway and can be viewed from our Sun Terrace, so your little tinkers can play, swing, slide & climb whilst you enjoy a leisurely drink or two!
For those after a more relaxing activity, you can while away the hours with some peaceful lake-side fishing. Our lake is stocked with, amongst others, Gudgeon (the native variety), Tench, Rudd & Golden Rudd. It is currently free to fish in our lake. We implement a catch and release policy, and ask that you only use nets or barbless hooks. Standard UK lake fishing rules applies, no licence needed for children under the age of 13.
We also have a small Crazy Golf Course, which is great fun for all the family! Navigate the ball through pig troughs, into chicken coops, under battling rams and via some worryingly realistic cow pats! Open daily.
Outdoor Fun continues in the winter as we have the only full-size, real-ice, covered ice rink in the area! Along with our totally magical walk-through Grotto, it makes for a lovely, Christmassy family day out!
We also have loads of gorgeously festive events from late November onwards – check our Events Calendar for details!
